Lady Eagles Head To Face Atlanta
Key game as teams sit atop Southeast Division

Charlotte Lady Eagles News Release -

Wednesday, June 20, 2012
- The Charlotte Lady Eagles hit the road to take on the Atlanta Silverbacks on Friday at 7 p.m ET at Atlanta Silverbacks Park. The Lady Eagles currently sit atop the Southeast Division with 23 points leading the Silverbacks by four points but have two games in hand.
After nine games the Lady Eagles find themselves undefeated but coming off consecutive draws against the Central SC Cobras and Atlanta Silverbacks. The lineup has suffered a few injuries and while the bench proved strong against Atlanta last Saturday night during the first half, the lack of depth hurt Charlotte as the game wore on.
The coaching staff is looking to get Leah Fortune back into the lineup for Friday night. Fortune has led the way this season for the Lady Eagles scoring six times and tallying 13 points.
The Charlotte Lady Eagles tied the Atlanta Silverbacks 2-2 on Saturday with the Charlotte goals coming from Gloria Douglas in the first minute and Amanda Naeher in the 17th minute. The second half was all Atlanta with goals from Kristin Burton in the 50th minute and Tiffini Turpin in the 60th minute.
Atlanta and Charlotte have broken away in the division and the playoff run-in should prove exciting. With just three games remaining in the regular season the Lady Eagles still have full control over their run to the 2012 W-League playoffs.
The Lady Eagles’ next home game will is on July 7 against Central SC.
