TAMPA, Fla. – Seattle Sounders Women midfielder Marta Bakowska-Mathews, a Florida State junior, was named the final ACC Player of the Week for 2013 to highlight the list of current and former W-League standouts honored for their NCAA accomplishments.

Bakowska-Mathews was tabbed after she scored both goals in the Seminoles’ double-overtime comeback win against Notre Dame in the regular-season finale. The win gave the Seminoles the No. 2 seed in the ACC Women’s Soccer Championship. With the Seminoles trailing 1-0, Bakowska-Mathews scored the tying goal with 2:35 remaining in regulation, and came through with the game’s golden goal in the 105th minute as she finished a perfectly timed run with a diving header off Megan Campbell’s cross. The goal was her sixth of the season and third game-winner.

Rachel Daly of the LA Strikers continued to tear up the Big East, being named Offensive Player of the Week after tallying two goals and an assist in a 3-0 St. John’s victory against DePaul. The sophomore leads the Big East in scoring with 20 goals and 43 points, both single-season records at St. John’s. Former Dayton Dutch Lions goalkeeper Katie Markesbery of Xavier took home Goalkeeper of the Week after making 12 saves in a 2-0 victory at Creighton. The win gave the Musketeers their first winning season (9-8-1) since 2005. Markesbery finished the season with six solo shutouts and shared a seventh.

A pair of former Vancouver Whitecap and current Washington State teammates swept the weekly Pac-12 honors, with midfielder Nicole Setterlund named Offensive Player of the Week and goalkeeper Gurveen Clair taking Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Setterlund compiled two goals and an assist as Washington State swept No. 21 California and No. 8 Stanford at home. She notched two goals, including the game-winner, in a 3-1 victory against the Bears, and added an assist on the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory against Stanford. Clair, a redshirt junior, recorded nine saves to collect her 12th and 13th victories of the year, tying the Washington State single-season record. She set a program record with her 22nd career shutout in the 1-0 win against Stanford.

The Team of the Week also featured a pair of W-League standouts, with UCLA’s Abby Dahlkemper (Pali Blues) and Memphis’ Valerie Sanderson (Laval Comets) named to the team.

Dahlkemper, a center back, helped the Bruins lock up the Pac-12 crown and a spot in the NCAA tournament with shutout wins against Oregon State (3-0) and Oregon (2-0). Sanderson provided both goals in a 2-1 win against Louisville, and tallied two more and an assist in a 6-0 defeat of Houston.
