LOS ANGELES – The LA Blues are pleased to announce that they have formed an affiliation with LA Premier FC, a nationally recognized youth soccer club in Southern California. LA Premier FC fields 64 teams ranging from the U-6 to U-19 level for both girls and boys.
As part of the agreement, LA Premier FC players will have exclusive opportunities to interact with the elite players of the LA Blues as player escorts and ball kids. Blues Technical Director Tracey Kevins and players will also serve as coaching mentors for LA Premier’s players, guiding them and assisting in their development as future soccer stars from the Greater Los Angeles area.
“I admire what LA Premier has brought to soccer in SoCal. Their tutelage, coaching, and management of future players is essential for the growth of the sport in the US,” Blues Co-Owner Steve Miller said. “Our ladies will be an important element in mentoring their girls and helping them achieve their goals and to keep growing the game.”
LA Premier FC is a sporting organization that aims to develop skills on and off the field, and to provide young athletes in Southern California with collegiate and professional opportunities through soccer. The club has recently expanded to Santa Clarita, Antelope Valley, and Corona, and has additionally branched out to add a volleyball program.
“LA Premier FC is a leader in youth player development, with our College Process Program of paramount importance,” said Barry Ritson, Executive Director of LA Premier Sports. “We feel that by affiliating with the Blues and their outstanding staff, it gives our players an added level to aspire to. The LA Blues have an excellent reputation of playing attractive, attacking soccer on the field, and have some of the best college players in the country donning their jersey. Through this partnership, we bring that quality and experience to the players at LA Premier. This is a monumental day in our history. We are excited about the future of the women’s game in Los Angeles.
LA Premier FC has teams competing in Cal South, an official youth and adult soccer association of the US Soccer Federation, US Youth Soccer, and the United States Adult Soccer Association, as well as the US Club Soccer’s Southern California National Premier League, the Coast Soccer League, and the Western College Developmental Association.
The club also hosts the SoCal Summer Showcase, which attracts coaches from throughout the nation representing collegiate program across all NCAA Divisions and the NAIA.
